Processor: PocketPC with StrongArm 206 MHz or XScale 400 MHz
Operating system: PocketPC 2002
Pocket*StrePla has successfully been tested on the following PDAs:
Compaq iPAQ 3660: Processor: StrongArm, 206 Mhz
Compaq iPAQ 3760: Processor: StrongArm, 206 Mhz
Compaq iPAQ 3850, 3870: Processor: StrongArm, 206 Mhz
Compaq iPAQ 3950, 3970: Processor: XScale, 400 Mhz
HP iPAQ 5450: Processor: XScale, 400 Mhz
Casio CASIOPEIA E-200G: Processor: StrongArm, 206 Mhz(this list will be continued as soon as new devices have been tested)
NOTE: Since the new iPAQ models have a higher frequency, many people tend to think that pocket*StrePla will run much quicker on these models. Unfortunately that is not the case. Pocket*StrePla is exactly as fast on the newest iPAQs 5450 with XScale-Processor as on the iPAQ 3660. The XScale-models have as display that makes a brilliant impression in a closed room, however, the StrongArm models are better in the cockpit with lots of sunlight, since the display shows more contrast. The best choice right now is the iPAQ 3850: very good readability in strong sunlight, more colours than the iPAQ 3660 and iPAQ 3760, easy memory extension via SD-cards without having to install a "Jacket" that makes the iPAQ hard to manage.
It is probably compatible with the iPAQ 3630, but you will need a memory extension in order to assure that 64MB memory are available.
If you have the above mentioned processors and the operating system Pocket PC 2002, other manufacturer's PDA`s should work as well.
The NMEA-format, that all loggers have, is used as a GPS data source. Usually pocket*StrePla should also work with other data sources (GPS mouse). We have tested it with the TomTom mouse and the NAVMAN GPS. That works..
In the future we will test all devices we can lay our hands on and create and publish a list.
What to do if something doesn't work?
As banal as it might sound, taking a look at the manual is often very useful. The manual can be found on the CD in the directory Documentation. It is a WORD document that can be printed on your printer. You can also download the manual here.
Our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) can be of further help. Take a look there; perhaps your problem is already described there.
